Working with us
Does it cost anything to work with Health Insurance Experts?
No — our guidance is 100% free. As an independent agency, we’re paid by the insurance carriers, not by you. You get expert, unbiased advice at no cost.
What makes an independent agency different?
Because we aren’t tied to a single insurance company, we can compare plans across many carriers and recommend what’s genuinely best for you — not what one company wants to sell.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Omaha and licensed in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. We help clients in Lincoln, Bellevue, Papillion, Council Bluffs, Grand Island, Kearney, and communities across the region.
How soon will someone contact me after I request a quote?
You’ll get an instant confirmation email, and a licensed advisor will personally follow up within one business day — frequently the same day.
Choosing a health plan
When can I enroll in a health insurance plan?
Individual plans are available during the annual Open Enrollment Period (typically Nov 1 – Jan 15). A qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, or a new baby — can open a Special Enrollment Period at other times.
Do I qualify for financial help or a subsidy?
Many Nebraskans qualify for premium tax credits based on household size and income. We’ll calculate your estimated subsidy and show your net monthly cost before you decide.
Can I keep my current doctor?
Often, yes. We check each plan’s provider network before you enroll to confirm your preferred doctors and hospitals are in-network.
What’s the difference between an HMO, PPO, and EPO?
HMOs require a primary care doctor and referrals but cost less; PPOs offer the most flexibility to see any provider; EPOs sit in between. We’ll match the plan structure to how you actually use care.
Medicare & life
When should I sign up for Medicare?
Your Initial Enrollment Period spans the 7 months around your 65th birthday. If you’re still working with employer coverage, you may be able to delay without penalty. We’ll map out your exact timeline.
Do you help with life insurance and annuities too?
Yes. Beyond health and Medicare, we help with term, whole, and universal life insurance as well as retirement annuities — so you have one trusted advisor for your whole financial picture.
